# Run a first Solve trial

> Evaluate Flexxible Solve with real issues on a small group of IT devices, with clear expectations about what is measured.

This guide helps you prepare a first Flexxible Solve trial: small, easy to understand, and with real issues from your organization. When you finish it, you'll know what Solve did in the chosen categories and be able to decide, based on data, where to continue.

## What the trial includes

* **10 categories that you choose.** They're not a selection recommended by Flexxible: you decide which issues you want to evaluate.
* **100 interventions.** Diagnosis, self-remediation, and Teammate are intervention types.
* **Triage doesn't count as an intervention.** Classifying tickets doesn't consume the 100 interventions.
* **Optional ITSM.** You don't need to connect your ITSM to run the trial.

> [!NOTE]
>
> 100 interventions aren't the same as 100 resolved issues. The result of each intervention depends on the case. See [Interventions and results](https://docs.flexxible.com/en/features/flexxible-solve/interventions.md).

## Before you begin

* Access to the Flexxible platform with the Solve trial enabled for your organization.
* A small group of IT team devices on which to install FlexxAgent. It's common to use fewer than 20 devices, although this isn't a product limit.
* IT team members who can report real issues from those devices.

## Steps

**1. Choose the 10 categories**

Review the [category catalog](https://docs.flexxible.com/en/features/flexxible-solve/categories.md) and choose the 10 you want to evaluate.

For the trial to be representative, choose categories that come up frequently in your organization and that your team can verify on the trial devices. Keep in mind that the *Out of scope* family groups out-of-scope matters.

**2. Prepare the trial devices**

Install FlexxAgent on the group of IT devices by following the [Download FlexxAgent](https://docs.flexxible.com/en/guides/agent-windows-install.md) guide. For other operating systems, see [FlexxAgent download](https://docs.flexxible.com/en/flexxagent/agent-download.md). If you assign them to a dedicated reporting group, they'll be easier to identify.

In [Workspaces](https://docs.flexxible.com/en/features/workspaces/workspaces), check that each device appears in the chosen reporting group and that its status is **Connected**.

If you're going to evaluate Assist Teammate, also check the [Flexxible Assist requirements](https://docs.flexxible.com/en/features/flexxible-assist/flexxible-assist-html5.md#requirements): a supported operating system and FlexxAgent CP installed.

**3. Decide how cases will come in**

From the entry points available in your trial, choose the ones you'll use: [Assist Chatbot](https://docs.flexxible.com/en/features/flexxible-solve/assist-chatbot.md), the ITSM, or the MCP server. You can use just one or combine them. See [Ticket entry and ITSM integration](https://docs.flexxible.com/en/features/flexxible-solve/ticket-entry-and-itsm.md).

**4. Review how the categories are handled**

Review how each of the 10 categories will be handled during the trial. See [Control and governance](https://docs.flexxible.com/en/features/flexxible-solve/governance.md).

**5. Generate the first cases**

Ask the IT team to report real issues in the chosen categories through the entry points you've decided on.

**6. Review each case**

For each case, review the information generated while handling it: the assigned category, what was attempted or performed, and the result. See [Review an intervention and continue the case](https://docs.flexxible.com/en/guides/solve-review-intervention.md).

**7. Decide the next steps**

Based on what you observed in each category, decide which ones you want to continue with and with what handling.

## Expected result

When the trial ends, for the chosen categories that had cases, you'll know:

* Which interventions were performed: diagnosis, self-remediation, or Teammate.
* What was attempted or performed in each case and which cases were resolved.
* How the cases that needed a Service Desk engineer continued.
* The intervention consumption, which you can check with your Flexxible contact.

With that information, you can decide where to apply Solve and with what level of autonomy.

## If you don't get the expected result

| Situation | What to review |
| - | - |
| A device doesn't appear in Workspaces or isn't shown as Connected. | Run the FlexxAgent [connectivity test](https://docs.flexxible.com/en/flexxagent/systems/windows.md#connectivity-test) and review the [Network and security](https://docs.flexxible.com/en/flexxagent/network.md) requirements. |
| No cases reach Solve. | Check that the IT team is using the entry points agreed for the trial. |
| A case is classified into a different category than expected. | Review the case description and the [catalog](https://docs.flexxible.com/en/features/flexxible-solve/categories.md). Generic labels classify issues without identifying a specific problem. |
| Solve doesn't run an action you expected. | Review the category handling, the exclusions, and the applicable approvals. Remember that a category doesn't guarantee a repair. |
| You have questions about intervention consumption. | Check with your Flexxible contact. |
