# Virtual machines

The **Virtual machines** view offers a comprehensive view of the virtual infrastructure managed at the hypervisor level. It includes all virtual machines that exist in the cluster, regardless of their role or purpose, such as:

* Virtual desktops (VDI/SDI)
* Templates
* General-purpose machines

The information is obtained directly from the virtualization manager on the hypervisor, so this view represents the actual state of the environment, without distinguishing whether the machines belong to a specific function type.

## Table information

* **Machine.** Virtual machine name.
* **Power state.** *Running* or *Stopped*.
* **vCPU.** Number of virtual CPUs.
* **RAM.** Amount of RAM assigned.
* **OS.** Installed operating system.
* **Domain.** Domain the machine belongs to.

## Available operations

This view lets you run actions on one or more selected virtual machines.

| Operation     | Action                            | Description                                                                                         |
| ------------- | --------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Power actions | Power on                          | Starts the virtual machine if it is off.                                                            |
|               | Restart                           | Restarts the virtual machine, shutting down the operating system before starting it again.          |
|               | Shut down                         | Shuts down the virtual machine.                                                                     |
|               | Force shut down (not recommended) | Shuts down the virtual machine immediately, without waiting for a proper operating system shutdown. |
|               | Force restart (not recommended)   | Restarts the virtual machine immediately, without performing an operating system shutdown.          |

  Operations run from this view are executed on the hypervisor infrastructure and are monitored until they finish. The process may take a few seconds to complete.

### Steps to run an operation

1. Go to **DaaS** → **Virtual machines**.
2. In the table, select one or more virtual machines to run the action on.
3. Click the **Operations** button.
4. Select the corresponding action.

   The number in parentheses next to each action indicates the number of virtual machines it can be applied to.

5. Confirm the operation in the pop-up window.

### Tracking operations

Once the action is confirmed, you can check its status by clicking the notifications icon (bell) located next to the organization name.

Each action generates a separate entry per virtual machine in the **Operations** section, where you can review the status and result of each execution.
